When AYLX makes a pairing suggestion it considers the student’s and host/home family’s essays, interviews, and preferences, along with five pairing criteria. Two of the five criteria will be significantly different to build enriching experiences and soften culture shock. Before committing to the exchange a family and their child will virtually meet and interview their potential counterparts to ensure both families are comfortable with each other.
